UK IMMIGRATION HELP PLZ,,,,,,,URGENT

I am in UK on PSW VISA...I will b finishing my 10 years continuous stay in UK on Nov 5 ,2010.(8 years on stdent visa and 2 years on PSW status).Now,the question is can I apply  fr PR under the LONG STAY section...?
My frnds r saying that home office wont consider the PSW period fr the long stay...i am a bit confused...plz help,...

what ever your frnd said was right
u r not eligible for PR for those years you studied and the visa based on studies(ie PSW).
You have to be here in uk either HSMP or any other visas other than Studies.

Boss This is all according to my knowledge.
bcz day to day the rules are changing in uk for every 6 months.
