Bhajan Lal Sharma to be Chief Minister of Rajasthan: missed opportunity by BJP

Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA, was proposed for the top job by former CM Vasundhara Raje

First-time MLA

Hailing from Bharatpur district, Bhajan Lal Sharma was born in a farmer's family & has served as the BJP State general secretary. He is a first-time MLA, as he defeated Pushpendra Bhardwaj of Congress in Sanganer Assembly constituency in Jaipur district in the recent election.

The BJP won 115 of the 199 seats in Rajasthan as it wrested power from the Congress in Rajasthan on December 3.

BJP should have gone with Baba Balaknath, a BC or Diya Kumari, a Rajput & a woman to be the Chief Minister of Rajasthan!

But again, OBC PM, ST CM in Chattisgarh, OBC CM in Madhya Pradesh...may be BJP is afraid of a upper-caste backlash in the North....!

With Bhajanlal Sharma's appointment as the CM of Rajasthan, there are 3 Brahmin CMs in India in total along with:

Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam

Mamata Banarjee of West Bengal

Former CMs include Devendra Fadnavis (Deputy CM of Maharastra)

Deputy CMs:

1. Devendra Fadnavis, Maharastra

2. Vijay Sharma, Chattisgarh

3. Mukesh Agnihotri, Himachal Pradesh

4. Rajendra Shukla, Madhya Pradesh

5. Brajesh Pathak, Uttar Pradesh

6. Sniawbhalang Dhar, Meghalaya (may be, mostly not)

With just 5% of India's population, a bit much representation.
