Vishnu has support of family members and jaagu's first wife son , whereas varadha doesn't seem to get equal respect like his step brother (maybe second wife son ani) and on top of that he does a mistake and lost his father's trust.

if you look at it, Varadha is a lonely man except a brother and few people around him who are powerless. Vishnu, step bro, step sis and all other members are much more powerful. He is helpless and couldn't do anything even if they bully him.

this is director's thought process when a party is weak and a hero enters to help that weak party or person that's when audience get goosebumps. Rajamouli follow this formula (chatrapathi same thing) . Here hero stepping to help a girl during the kateramma scene also a super hit because they show villans as strong people everyone else weak and hero jumps to help and audience go crazyyyy with crazy bgm
