good school districts are in Alpharetta, Cumming (south) , Johns Creek area

new home constructions in Alpharetta is tough these days, may be you can find very pricey townhomes

Johns creek also do not have a lot of new homes, you will mostly find older homes but schools are excellent here

You can may be still try Cumming South, Suwanee areas

Cumming South has really good schools where Suwanee has half decent schools

cumming north is where most folks were buying homes 1-2 years back from what I know

Dawsonville is so far from city its almost in the middle of nowhere, you will suffer for getting groceries or any sort of shopping, not sure why people of buying there

I'm not sure about Lawrenceville but Atlanta or Sandysprings/Dunwoody commute will be crazy for sure from there, may be more than an hour in traffic at the very least

most desi shopping, restaurants etc are in Alpharetta and Cumming south so proximity to these areas will help you in the longer term if the goal is to stay close to desi crowd if not you can go around or beyond exit 15 in Cumming north, you will be able to get newer homes with your budget and criteria there but schools will have lower rating

Very good info.

you can look for 20 year old home in prime areas of Alpharetta or Johns creek or Suwanee or south Cumming or Duluth with excellent schools and huge backyards and big homes for 650k or below

all the mad rush is for new constructions only. Go for nice old homes

initially I narrowed down to these two places, but I moved to Charlotte for below reasons

high home prices, traffic are major concern in Atlanta for me

low traffic and reasonable home price in charlotte

also I don’t see much pay scale difference in between these two places

Existing home owners will protest this .90% sale completed, how can they rezone now , is that for a better or same rated schools ?

Schools are too crowded so school district is going with realignment. In the realignment they will be allocated to low to average rated schools.

@Genuine11 thanks for your response.

How are the home prices in Charlotte? Is it reasonable to find 2500-3000 sq ft single family home "with backyard" built later than 2015 for 600K in decent school district >  6+?

it is because of too many students joining the school and in Concord it’s only particular elem. & middle & high are better not the rest of the schools in concord
