Hi Guys,

Have been following db for a while and saw some genuine discussions regarding jobs and H1.

I'm a British citizen(wife and 6-year-old kid both British citizens) and planning to apply for H1 this year again, tried last year(1 application) with no luck. Are there any other routes to work other than H1?

Has the process changed this year and should I be more careful with the employer? Please let me know if you have any contacts who sponsor H1.

If all goes well, will be in the US by Jan 2025, do you think the job market will improve by then?

I'm a DevOps Engineer(Azure), should I learn any other tech or stick to Azure meanwhile?

Reason to move to the US, relatives and looking to move to a sunny place in the US, considering (Raleigh, Austin, Atlanta, or San Diego) after looking at various discussions in our db.

Not planning to settle or expecting GC, max 5 to 6 years stay in the US.

Please provide your valuable suggestions, it will help me make a life decision.

Thanks.

You can ask your employer to try for an L Visa to transfer you from UK to US. Unfortunately, US and UK doesn't have a free trade agreement in place like Canada, Mexico, Aus or Singapore so no alternate route.
