like it or not..

chiru redefined the telugu cinema hero characteristics…

like when NTR, ANR, Krishna, Shoban babu…etc are movinf away from industry …chiranjeevi came up with new trend like harcore dances and fights in TFI…

later he proved himself in comedy timing and mass appeal..etc

80-90s of chiru image is bigger than bachhan…its a euphoria…

but lately with recent movies…he is ruining his own image with his latest movies…

and politics is another nail on him…

 

coming to balayya..

he has tailor-made characters for him like samara simha reddy…etc and in that gener  movies…no other hero fit into that…(including indhra)

two of his movies made by singeetam srinivas are absolute classics…in his career…

his offline speeches and behavior is  his another big drawback for him…

many of his 80 and 90 movies ... neenu 90 lo school pillodini , but I remember the crazy ... sirio movie vosthy 1 week full hangama undedhi , vaadi movie ni release chesee theaters kuda konne untundee as managing the crowd was big problem ....  vaadi peru meedha weekly lu kuda run avutundeee

I’ve seen this magazine cover many times. Danni base chesukuni bigger than bachhan analemu kadha…  he may be a way better actor than bachan at that time, but his reach was not pan-india level. 

Like I agreed, he used to be a gem of a star back then… kani ippudu kothhaga newfound accolades .., not apt.. and his recent political stint and aftermath doesn’t get him any appreciation.

80-90 Movies lo both have good films.. but acting wise i like balakrishna but dance and comedy wise Chiru best.. I feel balakrishna have better movies than Chiru but Chiru's mass image covers everything and makes him 1.

I have quoted very few movies of his but there were even more

Chiru had filmography that any actor would die for around this time

Amitabh was going through a big lull in his career

Rajnikanth was not the demi-god he is now until Basha released

1988 - 1992 was peak Chiru

He had more following than Sr NTR ever had

He was much better than Sr NTR in most of the things

He was the embodiment of guy next door 

He was the only guy who could portray the angry young man roles with aplomb



After that it all went downhill even though he has had so many blockbusters

He definitely didn't have peak Amitabh reach

But he was the first star from south who gained some level of acceptance in north

That headline is simply exaggeration. Amitabh was pan-Indian superstar in 70s. Chiru could not reach his level of pan-India craze.
