That's easy to fix.  Let's big income temples take care of smaller ones. There is enough assets and steady income for temples like Tirumala, Anantha padmanabha swami temples to take care of temples in entire India.

There are thousands of such temples... do you how much TTD gives to endowment dept ? And how much endowment dept spend on each temple ?

Govt temple money eating anedhi pilkas propaganda as it his hitting their independency and limiting their income.

Why do you beg government to control? Let individual populations decide what's good for them. Why should other religions have a say in others matters? Why should moslems or Christians have a say in Hindu affairs and vice versa? By definition, religious places are not secular and not meant to be secular, so secular governments should not be a part of them.

Thousands? These two big shrines have the capacity to maintain millions of small temples on their own. Tirumala alone can rake up to the tune of 1500 crores per year , this is not accounting for donations in gold, diamonds and things of that sort. The lands that TTD owns will be to the tune of some 2000+ cr easily, even more when occupied lands are taken back. Do you know how much endowment department spends on each temple ? Why should governments representing non Hindus as well have a say in Hindu places or worship? Does US government control churches ? Or mosques?

Common .... TTD board not under govt though the board is nominated by people who are in power and it spends money at the board discretion. TTD gives around 50cr to endowments dept.

Speak realistically man ... one temple in my village was in ruins until endowments dept appointed pujari and started giving funds.

Do you know how much each pujari gets per month, how much money they get for maintenance every month ?

None of the guys who want to exclude temple from endowment will donate to temple.

govt control pothe vache 10-20 hundi income kuda gone and then pilkas will handsup .. back to zero

you are mixing two things anna..

the bill is referring to only few temples ..not all.

TTD trust undi ippudu...but still Govt evadini niyamiste..vade chairman..and look at the things happening there...

and TTD is even now......  not funding all the temples which you are concerned about...endowment dept is taking care of them, and they will even after the passage of the bill.

That's a silly argument. Then why do you think TTD EO is a prestigious post and people compete for it? Where is the money from Sri Vani trust going to? That's in tune of 200+crores plus every year. We don't know what happened to the donated and inherited jewelry of TTD. Both YS and Baboru were involved in swindling of it as per hearsay.

I'm being more realistic, Hindu temples don't need state beaurocracy to dictate terms. Let temples be independent to decide that. Historically temples were awarded lands by Zamindars locally to keep the temples running. But these lands are taken away by proxies of those that in power. An institutional establishment of independent temples free of state control will give them free hand legally too, and more accountability.

Stupid assumption, temples have had long history and have existed even before democracy came into existence. To think they can't work without government is naive. Temples in US are running without government interference, by your logic they should have defaulted by now, did they actually?

Independent trust maintaining tirupathi will be disaster. Already govt direct involvement unteney corruption undi, inka independent trust antey motham naakestharu.

tirupathi needs coordination between multiple govt entities. Its impossible to have that coordination with govt direct involvement.
