That’s ridiculous.. if you are using a smart device or a service, it is very common to ask the user to create an account to manage it.. you are going to save all of your sensitive information on the laptop and you don’t want to get locked out of it..

just because you find it ridiculous..does not mean its not possible or that people always want it. 

there are many who dont want their info on the cloud. especially who are famous. 

i am not saying its the best way, but there is nothing wrong with asking for non cloud options.

 

many people avoid RING accounts and use local security systems that store info locally on an nvr. many such examples. problem is once given access , there is always risk of what data is tracked illegally.
