Oka 10y back IAM as a standalone thing was good. Only OIM,OAM nerchukuni jeevitam saanginchese vaallu. But now things changed for better. Many players, landscape shift etc. 

To start with - you better know atleast one Identity Governance tool and one access management tool. 

Access management ki Okta is good to learn. Very very easy, lots of internet resources, easy peasy certifications, market reach etc. Adi vaste you can easily say i know Azure, Ping SSO etc. One step extra poyi Okta lo Federation meeda kooda avagahana techuko. 

Next is Identity management and access governance : This is where jobs and longevity are. Easy to learn on paper but real life lo mastery ki time padtadi. Endukante anta process gola. Job lo ne cheyyagalavu. No other way to start except to go to a trainer who will get you started but thats not the end all. First 6 months support unte better. Finance and regulated industries lo IAM ki value chala ekkuva. Pharma lo parledu, Biotech lo relatively less value.

avanni mostly witch ki vellipoyayi le, but smaller companies do it archaically.
