The Rashtriya Janata Dal party unveiled its manifesto 'Parivartan Patra' for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav released the party's manifesto on Saturday. The party made 24 promises for the development of Bihar, including proving one crore jobs to youths and providing Rs 1 lakh to women annually.

Releasing the RJD manifesto 'Parivartan Patra', Tejashwi Yadav said, "We have brought 24 'jan vachan' (public promises) for 2024."

"If the INDIA bloc is voted to power, we will give jobs to one crore youths across the country. We will fill the 30 lakh job vacancies that are already there in the country and will create 70 lakh more jobs," he said.

"The process will start on Independence Day this year; it will be like 'berozgaari se azadi' (freedom from unemployment)," the RJD leader said.

"On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan this year, we will start providing Rs 1 lakh annually to our sisters belonging to poor families," he said.

Tejashwi said that if the INDIA bloc wins in the upcoming elections, the old pension scheme would be implemented for government employees.

The manifesto also promised to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500. The RJD leader also promised to construct five new airports in Bihar if the Opposition alliance is voted to power.

"For better connectivity in Bihar, we will build five new airports at Purnea, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj and Raxaul, besides sanctioning a special package of Rs 1.60 lakh crore for the overall development of the state. People of Bihar will also get 200 units of free electricity per month," he said.

Yadav further said that the INDIA bloc will ensure special status for Bihar. He said that the Agniveer scheme of contractual employment in the Armed forces will be discontinued if the INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre.

“We will ensure MSP for 10 crops with recommendations of the Swaminathan committee implemented across the country. Similarly, recommendations of the Mandal commission will be enforced in totality,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Bihar minister and JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar claimed that Tejashwi Yadav was faking "false promises".

Lok Sabha elections for 40 seats in Bihar will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1.
