That's not fact. CBN entered into an agreement with Indigo Airlines for a weekly twice service from Gannavaram to Singapore. That's not a regular service but a chartered service, kinda special flight. The actual flight was from the scheduled service from Tiruchirapalli to Singapore service which was code changed to run from Vijayawada to Singapore, a seasonal/optional service. In return, AP Govt paid 32 crs equal to half of the seat cost for 7 months and 1% tax on ATF, reimbursed parking fees and airport charges to the Airline. By the way, Gannavaram does not even have customs set up so local police had to act as customs officers.

Indigo used this opportunity for their benefit, used Gannavaram as night time parking place as many as 20 aircraft, and used low taxrate to fill up their gas tanks and ran service else where.

This is what happens when schemes are missed for election benefits. That airline was not planned to run beyond 7 months. Overall, AP Govt lost 32 crs directly and another 30-40 crs for services for a temp service.

Expedite and Pre-approve ? Not really...DGCA is not an easy branch to manage when it comes to favors or pre  approve...especially with private airlines and their lobby. Route rationalization, prime time slots allotment etc lantivi common ae kani aircraft, safety,etc lanti vishayalo antha scene vundadu vaa...

Ram Mohan Naidu vachina day-1 ae Mumbai service start pettinaru ante okay...manaku logics tho sambandham ledu inka.

But do you really think Air India has a flight ready on the stand-by, software, ticketing, etc also will be ready in one day and run the service?

Singapore kakundaa Dubai ki pettalsindi.. that would have worked.. Connecting flights from Dubai to US, Europe would have opened up lot of options and worked in our favor as there are plenty of people who travel from AP to Europe, Middle East and US ..

Dubai is a tightly controlled, high-demand market anna....India-Dubai has about 70k seats per week capacity and it's exhausted. 70k seats per week in 15 Indian cities. Indian Govt is now pushing Indian operators to move to hub and spoke operation rather than point to point as its middleast counterparts are mainly hub and spoke,  that created additional ticket creation for Middle east airlines for the same seat where as Indian seat is not as lucrative. This is called as Sixth Freedom traffic. Dubai now wants more seats per week but India does not want to create additional wealth to dubai carriers and the 15 focus cities for india-dubai remains same. Unless this policy changes, there won't be a new flight from Gannavaram to Dubai, not even low cost. Last time when they  negotiated, MEA Minister was directly involved in the negotiations, just to highlight what it takes to operate a flight to Dubai.

Singapore case is difference, anduke paisal ichi Singapore service run chesinaru previously.

Ee flight proposal approval last TdP govt lo ayyay.. TDP cabinet nundi exit ayyaka atakaekkindi.. it's a long time demand from business people from Vijayawada and Guntur(north Indians and gold merchants, clothing merchants).. Jagan govt lo malli request chesaru and formal approval before elections ee vachindi.. TDP vallaki ribbon cutting chance vachindi..

Dubai kottha international airport kattaka situation may change ani vinna appatlo. 

Still it wont work in Vijayawada airport's favor?
