basmati has better glycemic index and little better daibetic and other wise biryani basmati rice and daily sona masoori with no logic

All Northies I know eat basmati, though they eat less rice ... 

For souties - Basmati for Pulav and Biryani .. Sona masoori for every day .. If you are health conscious add brown rice for Charu, pulusu and yogurt.
