Very true. Once desis get citizenship they get selfish. Become anti immigration, support politicians who are against immigration, start talking about how other Indians are taking their kids jobs, etc. Have seen many people like this.
like you said, some talk and some do not openly.

Avunu anna, urike general statement that GC Citizen want to close door for new h1 antam easy but you need to think in their shoes also. Second generation ABCD kids ki jobs ravata ledu ante which parent will support more immigration.

Also, monna I said manual QA ki they should not do h1b ante okkadu offend ayyi mari 10 years back nuvvu koda alage h1 meda vachavu ante, I told him times change, 100 years back train engine driver used to come as foreign worker ani uppudu valaki koda immigration cheya mantava. Economy changes, jobs change, technology changes and country needs to bring ppl it needs for today.

ade kada H1B visas highly skilled visas ani antaru; Also most of the H1Bs antha tech sector aka IT sector kabja chesaru. 80% of H1Bs don't come under highly skilled category at all if were are being honest there. nenu edo topu ani cheppatledu including me factually don't come under highly skilled category. its a different story if I had stuck to my original domain instead of IT I would be considered as one;

High Skilled and non availability of US workers for which H1B/GC was meant also changed from time to time. 10-15 years back manual testing was considered high skilled and not many americans were available. And thats why appudu manual QA valaki H1B/GC chese varu. Ee rojullu lo asalu manual testing is gone and you will find lot of americans ready to do that job. Uppudu koda adi high skilled job and non availability ante fraud.

Idi just example, ilanti lot of technologies unnayi which lose importance with time. Data Engg okati, lot of americans did quick online courses and became data engineers during Covid. Lot of american kids are learning data engg and with automation, data engg koda will be a field where h1b/high skilled will not be needed. As I said times change, tech change, local population learns those skills so appudu data engg ki GC/H1 chesaru kada ani 20 years taravata koda adugute americans ki kopam vastundi.

If I am laid off I will get a package. I am confident I will get another job soon. It’s not end of world. I did save for a rainy day.
I will enjoy my time off. Look for jobs. If there are no jobs for me in US- I will figure out how to get some side income. Else I will go back to India. Lots of options.
But I will never blame the program that got me so much.

So If I never had H1B; I can blame the program antava just asking for @Sucker uncle.

H1B program gurinchii I have no real feelings, coz the program itself designed in a way to exploit and get exploited.

If you have observed me so far on the DB, I am not the complaining type.
it’s not about the program, but the opportunity to earn more and a better living. Complaining won’t take us anywhere but rather looking for opportunities does.

Like I said, I don’t there is a need for me to go back. I will figure something out here itself. Once kids are settled, then I will do what’s best for me.

As for kids, it’s their destiny. I can only help get good education. After that if there are no opportunities, they have to figure out.

Complaining and blaming does not help.

Anna, it's common for people to prioritize their own interests. For those who already have green cards or citizenship, increased migration is not at all beneficial. In fact, less migration could mean more job opportunities for them and their children.
