Anyone ventured to travel international trips with family ? recently some of my friends went to Europe (startours uk package), some went to Reykjavik only directly, Caribbean cruises are common for many of us. We did Hawaii cruise few years back (Costco package) , it was great. Now I wanted to know as I am exploring various for next year planning. This will be helpful for others as  well! TIA!!

Just a fyi, Europe is at the highest level of terrorism alert since 9/11. One of my friends canceled their trip recently this summer.

Later next year will probably be fine but few tips below based on my past trips:

  • Plan to stay in tourist areas (preferably US based hotels, Marriott / Hilton etc.)
  • Petty crime is a lot in Europe compared to USA (pickpocketing, stealing backpack camera etc.)
  • There is a bit of racism towards colored people, so please do research beforehand on the areas you will be staying
  • Cruises in Europe are fine but more expensive than Caribbean ones
  • Rental cars are a hassle in most European cities, plan on traveling with public transports or taxi (except Iceland)
  • Iceland is a beautiful country, I would recommend it if you have the budget, its scenic in both winter and summer times, depending on which activities you want
  • South America plan to go with a tour guide unless you know basic Spanish

Would also suggest taking into account your kids age, some cities are very nice if you are going as a couple and nightlife, but with kids, they will get bored there. (check for amusement parks, beaches, etc depending on interests)

If you have not taken a vacation in India, you can also plan for that, (Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Kerala, etc.), went earlier this year and it was very nice.

I have few of friends went to europe trip this year (last 4 months), no one faced any issue. There is issue of illegal muslim  immigrants anarchy in some places but main tourist places are still good to go they said.

Traveling internationally with family can be such a rewarding experience. We've had some amazing adventures ourselves, like a Hawaii cruise a few years back through Costco. It was fantastic, filled with stunning views and unforgettable moments. For next year, we're eyeing Europe, inspired by friends who've raved about their trips with startours UK packages and direct flights to Reykjavik. Caribbean cruises are also on our radar. If you're considering it, I'd recommend checking out Lufthansa's business class options at https://travelbusinessclass.com/lufthansa-business-class for a touch of luxury and comfort in your journey.

I heard from a friend that somehow Alaska is over hyped trip, not worth the money. Its poor place, very low economy, not much to see there except promotional pics over internet, cruise experience is also not exciting, most of the small local programs get cancelled very frequently (sleding, glacier view) becuase of weather conditions!! so not a great experience it seems.

not true. If you plan ahead and know what you’re doing, it’ll be one of the most memorable places unless you don’t like being in nature and away from big cities

Switzerland is a must go place. takes about 2 weeks to explore important places snd do some treks. awesome views. really loved the treks there.

Alaska needs to be explored with a cruise trip.

Yeah trip to Alaska on a cruise is memorable andi. I may biased as it was my first and only cruise outside India.

Weather sometimes hampers the plans like glacier viewing because of fog but the glacier landings and the nature is truly magical.

I just came back from an Alaska trip - We can visit one time - Glasiors and Scenic drive ( Valdez and Seward) .. Nice nature.

We went for eight days, but five days were good enough. We took a helicopter tour with a glacier landing and a local cruise for glaciers and wildlife animals. Denali's tour was canceled due to fire.
