BlackRock Says Gunman From Trump Rally Appeared in Firm’s Ad

(Bloomberg) -- Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old gunman who shot and injured former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally, briefly appeared in an advertisement for BlackRock Inc., the company said on Sunday.

 

Crooks was one of several students who appeared in the background of the 2022 ad and was unpaid, BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager, said in a statement. The ad was filmed at Bethel Park High School, where Crooks graduated in 2022, and featured a teacher, the company said.

The company did not describe the content of the ad but said footage will be made available to the authorities and that it will be removed from circulation. It also condemned the attack on Saturday that left one attendee dead and two others critically wounded.

“The assassination attempt on former President Trump is abhorrent. We’re thankful former President Trump wasn’t seriously injured, and thinking about all the innocent bystanders and victims of this awful act, especially the person who was killed,” the statement said.

BlackRock reports earnings on Monday. The company has in the past come under scrutiny after shootings in the US because some of its index funds own shares in gunmakers.

Despite being a resgistered Republican, when Crooks was 17-year-old, he made a $15 donation to ActBlue, a political action committee that raises money for left-leaning and Democratic politicians, reported Reuters citing a 2021 Federal Election Commission filing. The donation was earmarked for the Progressive Turnout Project, a national group that rallies Democrats to vote.

This attempt somehow doesn't look 'real' and appears 'staged' just like NTR's Nimmayakaya story,  Baboru Alipiri blast, Jagan Kodi katthi. Trump getting up and raising his fist as surviving assassination attempt in a show of determination is somehow meant to go into history books as iconic Churchill's gestures perhaps. 

What I don't understand is the motive. My instinct only tells me that this is somehow to convince public that Trump is truly on their side, so deep state tried to take him off and they would put him power this election. Atleast that's the tone of the narrative precedent to be set. Is that the case? Time will tell. I'm starting to feel Trump is more of controlled opposition at this point. 

"Give masses what they want " kind of approach.  Now don't get me wrong, I'd prefer Trump over Biden or Kamala or Obama anyday. But the convergence of Canadian and American Politics has been greatest at this point. Pierre Poilievre appears a bit docile version of Trump. I can't help but see the parallels.

Do you know how hard it is to just graze someone’s ear from 200+ yards. Had the bullet traveled 2 mm to the right and we would have been discussing Trump’s funeral arrangements.. Trump just got lucky, it’s not staged..He is a lucky bastard..

Do you know how precise the assassination attempts will usually be?  By far the easiest way for any shooter is to target the body instead of head (unless you have an exceptionally clean shot) due to the surface area to shoot at and greater chance to puncture vitals such as lungs, even heart and liver. These shots neither appeared headshots nor shots attempted to target his body. 

Now, I've been a Trump fan for so long as I remember, probably more so than Americans , Canadians and Indians. As much as I prefer him in office over others I call BS on this.
