How ante bhayya its becoming like India where rich are extremely rich and poor are living on streets. Middle class is getting squeezed out. Mumbai rates are close to NYC/Cali. Overall ga good functioning economy aiyte everyone will have their basic needs met like home/clothing/food along with some additional income for leisure/retirement. Again that has to be done by market and not govt mandating taxing the rich and giving money to poor to meet their needs.

People have lots and lots of equity anna chinna chinna kids ki million dollars vested equity unayi chala co.panoes I am not even counting executive level just entry level manager to below ics its huge money out there and tge land is less at least restricted for construction in the Bay,  only construction happening in exurbsike Gilroy tracy lathrop so property values hold. The older houses still have value as they are surrounded by big tech

Andhuke texas will introduce more radical right policies which eventually these young liberals feels suffocated to live with such rules and they will flee away back to blue states.

Concentration of jobs around few metros is another reason.

Lack of manufacturing jobs is one more reason.

Till 2000, USA has lot of blue collar cities apart from big metros. Almost all of them are vanishing, pushing people into metros.

People used to be happy living in the 2nd and 3rd tier cities.
