Agreed. ilaanti tech manager, scum manager roles lo settle ayina batch usually company lo high level bigshots back up tho bathukuthuu untaru. They escape in this kinds of events. Naaku thelisi 10 years nundi chestharu ante chusko.

in my opinion e type of roles will wipe off when the economy/market is bad.

12500 layoff antunnaru ante, mostly scrap vellipovali, but chances are that instead of fair clean up, the unit managers/directors do foul play. Performance bagunna, critical, high responsibility holding employee ayina sare target chestharu time ochindhi ani, useless boot licking dumb batch save avutharu. that is because .. contractor hiring apudu share veltundi higher management ki .. so obvious ga vaadi kindha vaadini lepaali ante veediki band padutundi ani bhayapadi save authuntaaru managers/directors etc .. individual contributors and tech ppl affect autharu mostly

This scrap batch live on reporting, PPTs, claiming the work that's delivered by others. 

Usually for these big layoffs, non-profitable units and units which are not aligned with the company's direction are let go completely. Some good engineers will be casualties.

Next, A lot depends on the directors who are decision makers. They are tasked to identify the engineers or positions that need to be cut. I wish they did more cutting positions than engineers. Identify the least value-added positions and eliminate them. Next focus on engineers who are not performing well. 

But there will always be casualties. Some managers get rid of people who are thorn in their flesh.
