Over the past two months, I’ve conducted five interviews, three of which were with Telugu-speaking candidates. Unfortunately, I discovered that two of them were using proxies, and in one instance, the candidate’s keyboard was being controlled by someone else. When I asked her to stop and explain her approach, she disconnected the call.
As a Telugu person myself, it’s disheartening to see such behavior. I understand the challenges of the current job market, and I genuinely want to support candidates who show promise and a willingness to learn. However, encountering repeated instances of dishonesty has made me reconsider my involvement in interviews, at least for the time being.
Edit: I don’t want to to target my fellow telugu folks. I am extremely sorry and the reason for this post is to share my concern.

We have walked out 3 candidate last month from project and the ethnicity were from Telugu speaking but that could be our bad luck or there excellent networking / our poor HR practice caused them to be hired .
On the first week of the project we found that the candidate aren’t the same they claimed or interviewed. They were all females with H4 EAD.
We professionally asked & had 1:1 interview with every candidate. Given the option if they are ready for technical / functional interview or walkout of the job. 2 left without any attempt and 1 tried but immediately after 2 question from interview panel ( consist of 80% female colleagues in the interview panel and USC European ethnicity along with HR) to avoid any legal issues .
These were recorded and prior written permission from candidate was taken.
The recording were sent and feedback were sent to company HR practices and attorneys as well.
Company found that they all came from same vendor and that vendor was penalized along with hiring manager was put on PIP. Company wide email was sent as well to make everyone aware of the situation to avoid more bleeding in other departments.
NOTE: Bottom line - prepare yourself technically and functionally strong on topics. You can start low but do it right way.

I agree 100% with the author. My experience has been the same.

Sometime back I gave 3 months for someone to prove himself even though I know his experience is fake. Endukante, the vendor followed strict Interview protocols, but he still cheated. Spent time in the hiring process, plus training for 1+ week. Edo try chesadu kani pick up kale. Free time anta sightseeing, etc. Plus attitude.

Some people don't use the opportunity and think they can fool vendors and managers all the time.

Hiring process lo manchi recruiters ni petalli anna. Fulltime opportunities lo many companies use workday and it has to go through the faltooo unnecessary pages for submiision. One page lo kuda submit chese option unte bagundu resume upload, linkedin link, visa status, attach immigration document, Driver license, passport copy, current or previous manager recommended on linkedin (yes/no), fake documents will be reported to dhss/usccis/iriss.

desis vendors, american vendor, fulltime roles ki motham standard submission cheyali strict.

opts, cpt , h4 ead aunties titukundi

I couldn’t take this.. it is so shameful sitting with Americans and catching fake candidates.. with the current video cameras, we can easily know the lip sync and whether they are reading or talking on their own..

People like honest candidates who give an impression that they work hard though they don’t know everything.. last week oka Chinese candidate ni hire chesaamu, full stack role ki.. Java bagane chesaadu, but angular raadu.. he said he is preparing for certification and he promised that he will complete it and join the job.. he is not very experienced but we still saw the work ethic and honesty in him and we hired him…

but basic effort lekundaa interview ki enduku vastaaro telidu 🤦‍♂️

+100

Even i caught atleast 10 lip sync fellows and warned the vendor that they will be blacklisted.

Infact i gave opportunity to a guy who was honest and told what experience he had and was showing effort to learn and i picked him for the job.
