ఉమ్మడి విశాఖపట్టణం జిల్లాలో స్థానిక సంస్థల కోటా ఎమ్మెల్సీ స్థానం కోసం జరగనున్న ఉప ఎన్నికకు దూరంగా ఉండాలని కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది. పార్టీ నేతలతో నిర్వహించిన టెలికాన్ఫరెన్స్‌లో టీడీపీ అధినేత, ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబునాయుడు ఈ విషయాన్ని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఈ ఎన్నికల్లో గెలవడం పెద్ద కష్టం కాదని, అయినప్పటికీ హుందా రాజకీయాల కోసమే ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్టు తెలిపారు.చంద్రబాబు నిర్ణయంపై కూటమి నేతలు కూడా హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. సీఎం అత్యంత హుందాగా వ్యవహరించారని కొనియాడారు. కాగా, ఉప ఎన్నిక నామినేషన్ల గడువు నేటితో ముగియనుంది. 

కాగా, ఈ ఎన్నికలో జీవీఎంసీ కార్పొరేటర్లు, నర్సీపట్టణం, యలమంచిలి మున్సిపల్ కౌన్సిలర్లు, జడ్పీటీసీ, ఎంపీటీసీ సభ్యులు ఓటర్లుగా ఉన్నారు. వీరిలో 60 శాతానికిపైగా వైసీపీ నుంచి గెలిచినవారే. అభ్యర్థిని పోటీకి నిలిపితే గెలిపిస్తామని టీడీపీ ఎమ్మెల్యేలు కొందరు ముందుకొచ్చినప్పటికీ అంత ప్రయాస అవసరం లేదని చంద్రబాబు భావించారు. ఒక్క ఎమ్మెల్సీ సీటు కోసం అంతమందిని ప్రత్యర్థి పార్టీ నుంచి సమీకరించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని, దానివల్ల వచ్చే ప్రయోజనం కూడా ఏమీ లేదని చంద్రబాబు అభిప్రాయపడినట్టు తెలిసింది. ఇదిలావుంచితే, ఈ స్థానం నుంచి వైసీపీ తరఫున మాజీ మంత్రి బొత్స సత్యనారాయణ పోటీ చేస్తున్నారు.
