Jaswanth Reddy, new YSRCP social media chief?

If reports from a section of media are to be believed, YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood to have appointed his close relative Jaswanth Reddy as the head of party’s social media wing.

Jaswanth Reddy will be replacing Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, son of party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who has hitherto been heading the social media wing of the party.

According to party sources, Jaswanth Reddy is the son-in-law of Sudershan Reddy, brother of Jagan’s mother Y S Vijayalakshmi.

He has been maintaining a low profile in the party, though he was playing behind the screen role all these days. He is looking after his own business activities in Chennai, sources said.

It is learnt Jagan has already indicated to Jaswanth Reddy to take care of the social media wing, though there has been no official communication from the party’s central office till date.

He may be officially declared as the head of the social media wing soon, sources added.

Earlier, several other names came up for discussion within the party as a replacement to Sajjala Bhargav. They include Nagarjuna Yadav from Narsaraopet and Karumuri Sunil Yadav from Eluru, both of whom are from OBC communities.

But Jagan finally preferred a leader from his own community, if the current speculations are right.
