True Bhayya,   This aithi craze seems to be more problematic for hyderabad and mumbai cities...  

As take for example chennai they dont have this nonsense tradition of dumping plaster of paris idols in lakes,ponds etc...

Even in Kerala ganesh nimajjanam is non -existant

Looks like in hyderabad schools declared holiday tomorrow on account of Ganesh Nimajjanam..

I am in bangalore and there is no holiday for nimajjanam ...

I hope mumbai and hyderabad will one day stop this pollution of lakes in the name of nimajjanam

Do you know what contributes most to the water pollution in Hyd? It's API and Chemical manufacturers dumping their process wastes into the water or reverse boring lo bore vesi underwater columns lo dump cheyyadam. Try looking for water in areas like Bollaram, you will see what I mean.

This is followed by retailers including restaurants, mechanics etc. dumping wastes in water.

Agreed Bhayya... but it does not mean we can bypass laws for ganesh nimmajjanam pollution..

Its like saying its ok to leave a person who kills once in a year and only catch hold of serial killers....

More over whats the need to even continue this non sense tradition ?

Its started by Tilak during independence struggle and its not like its written in Vedas, puranas or any religious texts...

My point being, Ganesh idols one time activity. Pollution ni address cheyyali ante, paints use ni regulate chesthe chalu. Using water mixable oil paints avoiding Pthalates, isothiqzolinones, and heavy metals. You don't need to restrict entire plaster of Paris in entirety. The other ones I stated are far more toxic. Vaati meedha matladedhi thakkuva, veeti meedha sound chesedhi ekuvva

its not like they leave all the idols there and let it dissolve in the water…
