kevinUsa
This would've been true about 20-25 years ago. Today, women have no issues with dating in general, apart from social stigma and tbe judgy eyes of aunties of the neighborhood. Regarding what you said about women not being open to divorce, well you should keep in mind that 70% of divorces are initiated by women. And while the number of divorces initiated by men have been historically higher in India, it has declined in the last decade and divorces initiated by women has grown at a rapid pace. Moreover women who want to have casual sex have no challenges of being threatened by rape cases. While it is true that there is always a risk of the other person being criminally minded, that goes for both the genders, so that's not a point of comparison. Either of the genders can be drugged and robbed or blackmailed. And believe it or not, sexual assaults exist for men as well. But the thing that people have to understand is that men view false rape cases as worse than a death sentence. Your life is over and you are forced to live the nightmare everyday. You don't have a job, you don't have a career, you don't have any prospects. And before any of this you are forced to spend a long time in jail without any evidence. In 2014, the Delhi Commission for Women submitted a report stating that 53.2% of rape cases registered between April 2013-July and 2014 in Delhi were false. As per NCRB, about 74% of rape cases under Section 376 end up acquitting accused (fake). According to the State Crime Record Bureau data record, approx. 40% of the rape cases disposed of by the Haryana police between 2018 and 2020 were "false". The conviction rate was less than two incidents out of every 10. The police disposed of 4,093 cases in the three years, of which 1,650 (40.3 percent) rape FIRS were found false. In 2018, 104 complaints (37.7 percent) of the 276 related to "repeated rapes on same women" were found false. The corresponding count stood at 60 (32.6 percent) of 184 in 2019 and 181 (44.9 percent) of the 403 complaints in 2020. There will be no end if we started to compile every report and incident related to false rape cases against men. And Again, this has absolutely nothing to do with actually true cases of rape. No one is denying that it exists. But the laws regarding rape cases have become a weapon for the criminally minded women. This isn't to say that these laws shouldn't exist. But rather that they need to be revisited, and revised to prevent them from becoming a sword instead of a shield. Laws are meant to protect people and not attack them. No one is taking away anything from the plight of victims of rape. But it's time to acknowledge victims of false rape accusations as well. People should see the Ted Talk by Deepika Bhardwaj, titled 'Men - The Forgotten Gender' in IIFT Delhi. Also people who are making this issue as a 'Men vs Women' issue, see the video. It's a woman talking about men's issues. This should make it clear that this isn't an issue of men vs women. Rather it's about justice in the areas where the constitution is no longer able to protect us. Please anyone who would like to comment either in support or against, please see the video first. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links here so to be on the safer side, I won't. All you have to do is go to youtube and search 'Deepika Bhardwaj Tedx'
