To be very honest:

Privacy - who would like to freely moan during sex when their in laws are in the next room? How much ever you would like to imagine that it's manageable, it's not. I've had this experience, during orgasm I had to sometimes think more about the loudness of my voice, than letting the moment take over and carelessly enjoy whatever my husband is doing. That affects the outcome, and sometimes women can't reach orgasms due to this kind of mental block.

PDA - it's frowned upon, so husband and wife don't get to touch, kiss and hug each other so frequently without thinking about " someone might see us, and moral police us to go into the room". Now who feels horny in the same room for years and years after?

Lack of foreplay - since there's no Privacy and touching-hugging etc is frowned upon, there's no chance for normal foreplay, or prolonged platonic touch or cuddles that might make you stay in the mood longer enough, so that when you get time alone, your experience becomes different. That leads to the reason why women don't feel aroused anymore, plus they don't get orgasms.

Poor sex life - this experience when repeated enough times, sex between you and your spouse will just die. You don't have avenue to flirt with each other, no avenue for playfulness, no avenue for spending time together, by the end of the day both are tired and not excited. Why would the woman want a dick shoved into her when she's not in the mood, and even if it happens she subconciously learns that sex is rather not enjoyable. Then husband starts feeling rejected, and the marriage is done with the sex life.

Childbirth - infant care and child care takes a toll on women, they are forever tired, worried and above that they have to take care of the family and work. By the end of the day, you aren't left with enough time to unwind and even think of sex. When kids grow up, they are co-sleeping with the parents. In such situations husband and wife relationship is not possible.

ETA: I am married, and have married friends. This topic comes up frequently, because most married couples have a dead bedroom scenario by the time they reach 5th marriage anniversary OR first childbirth, whichever happens first. It's not just common in my circle, but also very common in friends of friends circles as well.

I agree with everything you have mentioned. Plus the way Indian girls are brought up. Most having no idea about sex or have any sexual liberty and expression before marriage. But the expectation to turn into a succubus immediately after marriage, quite literally on the same night. This weird expectation is beyond me.

One of my close friend didn't had sex since past 2 years. Her oldest is 7 and youngest is 3 years old. They live with ailing FIL, and MIL who is house wife, MIL has guests coming every other day, and she ends up cooking for guests too sometimes, just after her work - in a 2 BHK house. Although my friend owns the entire 2 storey building, she has given ground floor for rental, and terrace rooms for rental as well.

She works 2-3 jobs, and her husband works 1 job - total income is around 60K to 70K, not including rental income. By the end of the day my friend doesn't even gets time to sleep properly, not even talking about how her rental income is somehow putting up with the home loan and FILs medical bills. They have very little savings.

Her husband complains a lot about sex life, and she asks him how can she work 3 jobs and still cook for family and look after kids, and end up 2am with him not wanting straight going to sleep?

I don’t think aisa kuch hai lol unless if those couples live with the guy’s mom and dad then yeah maybe then the situation is different and it’s not always really possible to have sex. But the ones who live with each other in an apartment or a house I don’t think the situation is the same for them.

Indian women are conditioned growing up that it's ethically, morally and socially wrong to have sex. Hence, no matter how progressive and liberal they show themselves, they always view sex as bad. While Indian boys grow up only talking about sex and various fantasies, blame porn for that. This causes mismatch in expectations and hence, I think their ego comes in between and Indian married couples stop having sex after a point.

Indian women, in general are not kinky. I feel most want men to "understand" their signals. Eventually there's communication gap and sex becomes a chore than fun. People lose hope and stop doing it completely after a poor event or two.

Western women on the other hand don't view sex as taboo as a Indian women.

What do you mean by foreign? West (America, Europe and Australia?) is that all of the foreign? Whatever they do is must be correct and we should become like them, is that you are looking for?
