Low Cost housing compared to other places in CA. 500k for a 2500 SQ. Ft home.

Summers a little hot but winters are amazing.

Good schools, parks.

No wonder, its a popular destination among non-desis.

Desis and non-desis think differently.

Desis are very social and need to be among their social circle even in retirement to fill relatives/family void.

I asked my office VP who is a white who is preparing for retirement. He moved from Danville, CA to Reno, NV. His home in Danville appreciated to 3M. He bought his home in Reno for around 500k. Basically downsize and low cost region. All his kids are settled in different states. He looked if Reno airport has good connectivity to these states. No State tax. Did not care about social circle.

me VP ki strippers mida unna prema wife mida ledu anukuntta anna

Warm weather ante kashtam. Indoor activities. I can't think of many. I used to live there a decade back.

Paintball. Plenty of them - Try. They are fun esp for your kids age.
Boating - We did in Lake Sonoma, Lake Berryessa, Houseboats at Lake Shasta (group).
Rafting - Sacramento River & North Lake Tahoe. It's fun with kids.
Museum - California State Railroad Museum
Global Winter Wonderland - Thanksgiving to New Year. Try their ICE Skating. Fun for kids.

that's why you need to move when kids are young(max before 9-10 years), they will anyway have US Passport so they can come for college.

India lo IB school lo vesukovachu... US lo elementary school ayipoye time ki you need to move, else confused soul and you have to retire in US.

its a tough choice brother but mentally you have to be stable and decide which route..

idantha kadu ante.. you have to retire and go back after kids are completely out of your house..

All the best.
