My TX license expiring today and I have H1B receipt as it is yet to be approved.

Can we renew license with H1B receipt?

I suggest book an appointment first now a days it's difficult to get appointment for dl renewal

niku nijamga answer telise cheppavaa, even with receipt also you will get 1 year extension for DL

I have seen cases where they didn't give

I dont know texas but few states I know where they issue license 6 months to 1 year with receipt number

even approve ayyaka kuda most of the time they will validate with USCIS about your legal stay and this process usually takes 4-6 weeks

I went to dps in Fort Worth,TX today and they said that letter would be sent me within 10-15 days after getting USCIS verification and bring that letter to DPS along with passport,I-797C Receipt.Appointment Not needed itseems

We can check for status whether they have issued letter from USCIS by checking link below
