It has been reliably blue since 2008 - although in some sense it is still considered a swing state (per many reports) especially after Youngkin got elected as governor which was a bit of a surprise as he beat the heavy favorite Democrat who has deep roots here in VA.

I cannot remember exactly how because I was actually waiting to speak to my parents online (NZ ki India ki 7 hours difference undedi) - I did not have WhatsApp at the time so using some sort of a chat messenger service. Time kill cheyyadaniki random ga matladanu. And things went from there.

As I mentioned in my original response to you - it was emotionally painful most certainly.

But honestly practical ga cheppali antey -later on the sense of loss subsided. I am able to come and go to India as I please and nothing changed materially except perhaps not being able to vote in Indian elections.

Not necessarily true brother. There's obviously many mixed couples. In fact one of my friends from India (he's North Indian) is also in a mixed marriage. 

Yes it really depends on how you present yourself - in terms of your conversational skills and grooming. These are non-negotiable to most females not necessarily white women.
