It's a huge myth. Republican supporters were questioned to prove by going undercover as illegals and ask for freebies..no one could prove it. 

The process starts with applying assylum..if approved you will get an ead card after several months of wait with temporary accommodation. This is same process even under trump.. and after 7 years under asylum you might get greencard..this wait can be 10 years at cases. If you are indian you disqualify if you try to travel to India through Nepal or Bhutan. You are expected to cut ties with india forever.

 

Also you are not eligible for all kind of jobs until you get gc.

The entire process can revise your asylum status anytime if they find it to be fake.
