before that .. i have a question... Do you want to stay with your sons or daughters or away from them.. ? In US you still need to work after retirement so that you can stay healthy it is not like India where you simply sit in home and watch tv entire day. What about your health condition.. If you move to India you will be sick for few days as  the pollution is very high in all the major cities with construction debris particles all over the places.. this is happening in Tier2 cities as well. another issue is the doctors in India are abusing the anti biotics too much .. for small small diseases like cold, Cough and Fever they are giving high dosed anti viral drugs and immune suppressants,

What do you want in your retirement is the key here. Generally speaking you will be better off in India, where labour costs are low and access to reasonable healthcare is in abundance, and almost guaranteed "Sunshine" for about at least 300 days a year. You will live as a first class citizen with your own social circle.

India is a con if you are concerned about hygiene, traffic, and all other bills of a low trust society that it has largely become.

US is very isolating in a sense that you will have a big car and supposedly big house( wooden one though), but you're likely to be sheltered among Telugus for you to be able to achieve a feeling of belonging and good things of living in a high trust society.Access to reasonable healthcare is hard but pay $$ you will get top notch care.

Then comes the cost aspect. Your $$ can stretch your life in India and you can live a much better life.

You need to have some general understanding of medicines that you take. If you don't like being prescribed some of those meds, just tell your doctor.

Wrt. Pollution, you can always stay away from polluted places if you live suburban be in a 60-90 minutes of city core.

Staying home in India and watching TV will make you sick too. You need to keep your mind and body active to live healthy.

Living in High Rise at higher floors should help a lot.

Also, with EVs, vehicular pollution should go down in 3-5 years.
