Can you explain whats the issue here?

Are u talking about GC EAD's renewal or GC itself? What is the issue on renewals?

GC EAD renewals will take long time under trump admin. He cannot eliminate GC EAD's because its by law but what will happen is only 2 year EAD validity and every renewal will need fingerprinting and background check ani delay chestaru.

All this movie was already seen in 2016-2020.

Correct, biden admin made it 5 yr validity and trump admin will make it 2 yr again.

You can apply for renewal only 180 days before expiry. And it will take more than 180 days to get your EAD renewed[fingerprinting, background check etc etc]. They will say you are still in legal status because your GC application is pending but you have to stop working because we are still processing your EAD. So you can stay in the country but cannot work till EAD is renewed.

Were you not following immi news in 2016-2020?

Nothing you described happened during 2017-21. Ead renewals were done for 2 years with 180-day extension. One can apply for ead 180 days before expiry effectively giving them 1 year buffer while processing renewals. There may have been some off cases here and there. My friends were successfully able to continue with no issues.

Processing time chusuko anna, close to 7-8 months. That is official and lot of ppl had to file lawsuits to get their EAD

Also, the 180 days extension rule came later. Happy that your friends were able to do without any issues but I am not talking about individual cases, I was saying how they want the new administration policy to be and this time it will be more strict.

Sarle, I have no dog in the game. I used to read immigration attorney forum for h1b and lot of posts were filled with these EAD delays as well during that time. After biden no need for immigration posts because almost all h1 approved without RFE and almost no EAD delay posts.

Elon musk and Ramaswamy talking about efficiency in administration.

Such delays are thing of a past over burdening the existing administration. The same area which needs improvement cannot expect to deliberately delay and deal with inefficiencies.

In previous term, Trump did not have enough support in senate and congress and had to resort to such institutional level actions to enforce the agenda which were not effective and successful. In fact republicans lo ne he did not have complete support..

This term, it’s different. Trump has the majority in bipartisan houses and support of the GOP. And saying so, Trump is not all by his own this time, he will be guided by a team and authoritarian regime vundakapovachu…
