DMK is running on the agenda of anti-brahminism.. Brahmins are a very small minority in TN and have no power whatsoever (even when jayalalitha was CM, she didn’t give Brahmins any posts or power) but DMK is trying to consolidate the anti Brahmin castes onto their side.. Their argument is that Brahmins are not local to TN and they are migrants… Kasturi is just talking against that agenda that even Karunanidhi is a migrant from Telugu states and they migrated along with the Telugu kings who ruled TN.. Apparently Karunanidhi himself said that his ancestors are Telugu speaking musicians/artists who migrated to TN with the kings (may be devadasi ani antaaru)

what do you mean no power , Brahmins own many commercial enterprises in T.N like t.v.s ,Zoho, Hindu ,india cements .they aren't like our Brahmins who keep begging for help from government .

Both South Indian and Bengali Brahmins mixed with the local population. Probably on the order of ~25% of the ancestry of these two Brahmin communities can be attributed to the local substrate. But, if you correct for East Asian admixture Bengali Brahmins are actually quite similar to the Brahmins of the Gangetic plains to the west. This comports with history.

 

Brahmins are are from a single source population from gangetic plains ,south indian Brahmins are 75% gangetic Brahmins + 25% local population .
