Infact its a strategy. Until kid gets majority and volutarily surrender he is a US citizen as per US.

If they are super rich in India they can take indian citizenship and when the kid becomes major and if he wants to come back he can just go to US embassy and request a US passport.

Only flaw with this is once you go out of country US will not issue a visa to the kid because he is a US citizen according to US law.
