Not too sure.  Kamineni is very rarely seen in Reddies, is more of Kamma surname. "Rao" as a title was used by Kammas and Velamas and Noyogis. I didn't know if Reddies ever used it all.

You see how titles changed ,muslim estate holders used rao chaudary titles

This is interesting. Never knew Reddies let go of reddy title and took up Chowdary and Rao.

Only royal families and estate holders did under muslims.

Choudary is a  title under muslim rule ,coastal andhra people just adopted them to differentiate themselves between other castes.in rayalaseema you won't find kammas using Choudary much it's only a local phenomenon to differentiate themselves.

Similar to balijas using royals in chitoor ,it's a common phenomenon, sure some people might have gotten chowdary title under Golconda sultante but it will be barely in hundreds.

Rao as far as I know first was used by padmanayakas and niyogi Brahmins under kaakatiyaas.

Rao was used by Maharastrians by peshwas, some Kshatriyas and even Yadav/Ahirs in Haryana and this has nothing to do with Islamic rule. So why did you think, they swapped Chaudhary to Rao during Islamic rule in Telangana?

Rayalaseema Kammas generally use Naidoo, and sometimes don't use it at all. Prabhakar choudhary is the only exception. Not sure if this is picked up with time.

Choudhary/Chowdary title is exclusive to those that were tax collectors and generally also held larger acreage. From my understanding Pedda Kamma families of Andhra in Krishna-Guntur, East-West used it exclusively until recent past. Post NTR phenomenon is when Kammas regardless of land holdings adopted it and started using it.

Rao wasn't used in muslim rule .it was used in telugu states from kaakatiya times itself.

They didn't swap to rao during islamic rule ,royal families under nizam swapped to chaudary and rao from reddy as rao was probably given to the favourites of the king.

rao probably held more prestige as it's an imported title from indo-aryan culture.even padmanayakas who used reddy title have switched  to rao during kaakatiya time as they were favoured by the last kaakatiya king.

Chowdary is used in muslim rule exclusively.

Nowadays they don't hold any meaning ,everyone is using them.

,pedda kammas used naidu title like the ones in rayalaseema, prakasham and tamil nadu maybe some in godavari.pedda kammas aren't present much in krishna.NTR himself was a chinna kamma.

Chowdary title is exclusively used under muslim rule ,what's the extent of muslim rule in coastal Andhra?look at this logic , Why do rayalaseema people don't use it when they have also been under muslim rule?

I remember reading that 300 or 500 kammas were awarded the title of Chowdary under Golconda sultanate .rest of them adopted it to differentiate themselves from other castes ,they couldn't use naidu as it was used extensively by many castes in andhra.

Naidoo was not prevalent in EG/WG. It's only Chowdary/choudhary or a more generic Rao.  Why part is Possible, I didn't dig much into it.

Rayalaseema had "Ceded areas" that were given away to British East India Company. May be that's why the Islamic influence was not so pronounced, so are the title like Chaudhary.

Rayalaseema/Nellore has more muslim influence than any other place in andhra.

Original native place for kammas was prakasham and guntur.they migrated from there to krishna and then to rayalaseema and T.N during vijayanagara period.

@CanadianMalodu @Teluguredu very useful information for the generations to come. Thank you bros.

This is a very common confusion ,surnames are not based on caste they are merely the name of your ancestral village ,some surnames are dominant in some castes if the population of caste was more in that village.

You can make an educated guess at most based on other people you know.but mostly you will get confused with Brahmins/kammas/kaapus as they all are heavily concentrated in same places and belong to similar economic strata.

Even Dalits have similar surnames to many other castes.but usually you won't get confused as much as on average they are poorer.
