Do we need transit vise for Frankfurt airport connection?

I'm flying from New York City to Hyderabad, with a connecting flight in Frankfurt. I'm not planning to leave the airport, and there won't be a change of airport. Do I need a visa for this connection?

plus  recently i know a family who booked ticket from hyd to toronto

hyderabad to frankfurt to munich to toronto 

they were work permits they were denied  flights in hyd only

recently came through amsterdam using KLM on ead uncle.. no issues
