paaparao
Hello everyone! I am being put in a weird spot as hiring manager. We created two roles today and within a matter of 5 minutes(approx not timed to perfection) we got over 300 resumes. While reviewing these applications we found a bunch of resumes that were fake. Just to give a bit of more context, every recruiter/ hiring manager validates the resume. What I do is either look up their LinkedIn or GitHub profile if they are linked. During this the hr made a comment that was borderline racist that this is as usual from these applicants who come from this country (India)..I questioned the HR as to why they are telling that and the answer she gave surprised me. They say, I don't mean to be racist here even though it looks like that but we have a lot of good engineers from here but our problem is this, you take a bowl of rice and take a few bad rice pieces and mix them in the bowl and if you're task it to figure out which one is good and which one is bad...I am pretty sure you are going to treat everyone as bad. I thought about this and felt it makes a lot of sense. To everyone who indulges in this practice of faking your resume, please don't do it. It will end up getting you blacklisted and in turn lead to people in companies having unnecessary stereotypes/ opinions about your country. While some people might have an opinion that people should not make generic opinion like this but it happens. I agree two wrongs don't make it right but while having those sort of opinions is wrong, faking your resume however desperate the person is straight up wrong! source : Facebook indian expats group. paaparao
problem is in those just 10-15 candidates 70% will be fake resumes. If this keeps repeating obviously HRs will know who is doing the fraud. They have to restart the interview process again such a waste of time. Because of this reason only my company recently stopped hiring visa holders. In this process, unfortunately genuine candidates will miss opportunities due to fake people
paaparao
I recently interviewed and though we clearly mentioned this position does not sponsor, 100% of Indians who applied needed sponsorship. During the screening they lied they didn’t need sponsorship (basically they were on cpt) now or in future. Yet we interviewed them and 100% of those interviewed in technical round were found to be using some kind of assistance. Also one of them was found to be different than the person who was screened on phone as their personalities as described by HR did not match during technical round. If you are doing this, please stop! Source : Facebook indian expats group.

paaparao
.It is sad I know some F1 guy faked his resume and got a job. His college mentioned for the F1 visa was not the same and he did his masters from a different college showing old pics as proof when RFE was received. He had to attend college only once a year. He completed college from a different state while working at a gas station in a different state also using someone else's EAD to do a 2nd job and worked as a dasher. Next, he called his entire family from India and his wife is doing an illegal job too. Recently, he got a developer role faking his resume earning a good amount, staying at home while taking help from India. This guy has a commerce background with zero knowledge in IT. He put fake GC on resume because consultancies are the one who verify and do background check. Imagine people who actually work hard are not given an opportunity. Some H4 EADs and OPT students are doing this which is so bad and spoiling the entire system. So, now the rules are stringent where everyone has to suffer because of some bad apples.
