How Raloxifene Helps in Reducing Breast Cancer Risk

Raloxifene 60 mg tablet is a medication primarily used to treat osteoporosis and reduce the risk of bone fractures in postmenopausal women. However, it also plays a significant role in reducing breast cancer risk. As a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), raloxifene binds to estrogen receptors in breast tissue, blocking estrogen's stimulating effects, which can contribute to the growth of certain breast cancers. Studies have shown that raloxifene can lower the risk of estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer by about 50%, making it a preventive option for women at high risk of developing the disease. It offers a non-hormonal alternative to traditional treatments.
