Canada is the largest export market for USA. USA imports lot of oil, energy and raw materials from Canada

oil aithe comedy; Canada doesn't have a refinery of its own despite being big producer. also Eastern part imports oil from middle east.

Canada has the commodity and US is the market. US can survive without canadian imports and can source them from else where but its not the same for Canada. They have to sell it to US to make money.

Prices and inflation will go up. You can import from anywhere but price is what matters. Also Canada and all other countries will put retaliatory tariffs making American exports costly
