I know its tough to predict what will happen but any thoughts if h4 ead will be on the chopping block soon. Been hearing different versions saying it can be removed with an EO and some say it should be via some regulation. Baaga panic avutunna. Without that it will be very tough for us. The company doesn't sponsor h1b and even if they there's always uncertainty of the lottery.

congress approval is not needed to remove it.  dept (i think DHS) ... they just need to amend it and put it through rule making and comments period.

but i dont see much opposition to it either. aa US tek workerws assocaition thapthe ...no one is strongly opposing it.

last time when the lawsuit was filed....admin just ignored and did not side with anyone. i dont see any motivation to remove it. miller gadu specifc ga emaina cheppada?

H4 EAD was there even before Trump's first term and he did not remove it. I don't think it would be different this term.

Nobody can predict the future but nothing to be concerned about.

Ledu anna, he tried  last time and court struck it down because proper procedure was not followed. Court never said president cannot do it but has to do it in proper procedure. This time all his advisors have understood procedures. Procedure follow avute [like notice period, comment period] then president absolutely can change H4EAD and OPT period.

H4EAD will likely be gone for good. Going by last Trump Admin actions, they were almost getting ready to revoke the EAD but fell short due to admin change. This time they are likely to go ahead with it, as it's low hanging fruit. Now, they may not be able to cut it abruptly but ina phases manner say you won't get renewals or new applications.

On the brighter side, H1B may become a process with certainty if it's tied to tier III wage level and speciality occupation.

Ignore all the fear mongering news in the media and in this db. Trump is a business man and most of his friends are big time capitalists.

If economy is good then nothing will happen to legal immigration. Otherwise, turn east and fold your hands. At the end of the day, economy is the deciding factor.

It's cheaper to offshore and automate more jobs rather than bringing more people. F1 are for draining money from India. Net gain = US economy.

Legal immigration doesn't mean it's default. No citizen both born and naturalized wants outsiders to take up jobs. The problem with H4EAD is they are not bound to speciality occupation, like H1B. At least H1B despite being mirred in wage and displacement of American workers issues still has some level of speciality occupation going for it. It's easier to show some results without having to go to Congress for amendments in case of EAD for H4. Which is why, it's likely to end up on the chopping block earlier.

Outsourcing has its own downsides. It improves the GDP of the other third world countries. It makes US look weak becuase of low GDP.

Trump tariff plans are trying to resolve this problem. However, companies will not agree to it. Because it cuts down their profits big time.

Nah, it's not that straight forward. Most of that scenario already exists, how do you think US still tops the nominal GDP?

The real answer lies in how US leverages it's dollar as a standard and forces rest to the world to use it. They have a fed , which keeps printing monies without value and compliance of rest of the world, that keeps adding it's value. The inflation is absorbed by all the countries that pegged their currencies to the dollar and thus the work force of those countries.

Nominal GDP is the value of all goods and services produced. It doesn't account for number of jobs that created the goods and services. So long as US reigns in its top dog position, it's not a problem.
