All things being equal - I think most sensible Indians would typically vote Democrat - but unfortunately consciously or otherwise Democrats have followed some policies which are so dangerous to a functioning society's peace and calm that they ended up alienating a lot of voters.

Borders undakudadhu - illegal immigration valla nastam ledu - crime anedi racism valla vacchindi (there's an element of truth there but can't couch the entire argument in it) - trans issues etc., on these they lost a lot of voters including me.

 

For me it was open borders and crime - a massive big issue for me which eventually made me vote for GOP - knowing fully well the racist component of GOP.

But at the end of the day - you have to weigh pros and cons and in a country with only 2 alternatives - you are forced to choose the lesser of the two evils.

Not that she was a Black candidate and a female - Obama got elected twice being black (yes a man I get that) - and Hillary got more popular votes than Trump ( a woman).

Kamala was an amazing mix of inefficiency, dishonesty and a completely uninspiring candidate.
