Steve Bannon blasted foreign work visa programs for their “contempt” for Americans just hours before President-elect Donald Trump – his former White Hoouse boss – came out in favor of them.

Bannon trashed Elon Musk as a “toddler” on Friday on his show amid infighting among Trump supporters about legal immigration and H-1B visas. One side of the argument would like to see all or most immigration halted.

Musk is in the camp that wants to continue to import skilled laborers from other countries and has stated he would not have ascended to his status in business (or now government) without work visa programs.

In one comment on X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote Saturday, “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B. Take a big step back and ** YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”

Trump waited days to weigh in on the issue an told The New York Post Saturday he supported visa programs for foreign workers.

But hours before Trump sided with Musk over Bannon on the issue, the latter blasted H-1B visas on his Warroom podcast.

Bannon read the above Musk tweet and blasted the billionaire X owner and programs that allow foreign workers into the country:

Oh yeah, tough guy? That you’re going to go to war on the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend. You’re, you’re, you’re a manchild. To be blunt, I hate to make it personal, but what you have done is try to trash individuals. Punching down. Remember the first rule of gladiator school, bro. Don’t punch down. Either punch a peer or punch up.

The H-1B visa program is a total and complete scam concocted by the Lords of Easy Money on Wall Street and the oligarchs in Silicon Valley. To both initially to just increase profit margins. But there’s a darker element to it today. A contempt of America in American citizens, and we’re not going to tolerate it. You need to honor this country and you need to honor the citizens in this country. The citizens in this country are what provided the platform for you nerds even to exist.

Trump told the Post Saturday, “I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program.”
