An anti-vaccine campaigner who once worked for pharmaceutical company Pfizer, Dr Mike Yeadon, has today been named the 2021 recipient of the “Rusty Razor” award, the prize given by TheSkeptic to the year’s worst promoters of pseudoscience.

mike-yeadon-375x304.jpg Dr Mike Yeadon, the former Pfizer scientist, wins the 2021 Rusty Razor award for his relentless campaign of Covid misinformation

Yeadon, who left Pfizer in 2011 and has subsequently become a hero of the Covid conspiracy theorist movement for his anti-vaccination scaremongering.

Throughout the pandemic, Mike Yeadon has been a prolific source of viral misinformation, including claiming that masks have no effect on Covid spread, that lockdowns “never slow transmission”, and that asymptomatic spread of COVID-19 is a lie. In an October 2020 article for the Daily Mail, Yeadon predicted there would be no second wave of COVID-19 infections, and that deaths would “fizzle out without overwhelming the NHS” – since then a further 100,000 people have died.

Once Covid vaccines became available, Yeadon’s misinformation shifted to their safety and efficacy – in December 2020 he petitioned Europe’s medicines regulator to halt vaccine trials, claiming it could cause infertility in women – a claim he acknowledged was not backed by scientific evidence, but which spread widely on social media. By January, 13% of unvaccinated people in the United States had heard that “COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to cause infertility.” A UK-based study found that 7% of all UK adults had heard Yeadon’s false claim regarding infertility.

Well  ,some conspiracies are obvious .

we only know something because someone has told us something ,we aren't verifying it personally from grass -root level.so it's only natural to believe that some elite people who have control over media might personally put out false narratives that might benefit them.

There are conspiracies ranging from demon cults ,alien cults to sensible ones like the recent death of chatgpt whistleblower.

I have seen someone say that celebrities getting a back eye is sign that they have performed some ritual for some cult.recently Sharon stone has gotten a black eye.you can make stories from anything because we don't know the truth.

Ya, of course it's the guy who has no clue about anything. Please first look up how N95 masks work firstly before talking about pore sizes

Let's stick to the masks. Do you think pore sizes are the only thing that matters?

As for Sweden, do you think all countries are the same regardless of population density and hundred other factors?

Yes, it didn't work at all. Even CDC flip-flopped it's stance on masks from the beginning. Then  with Sweden, you can normalize the cases for any other similar sized region or state or country.

Even within the  US, there isn't much difference in the number of cases as such.

Tell me why New York and Florida has not much of variation in transmission, despite having similar populations.

Can you share a statement from CDC saying N95 masks don't work?

I wasn't talking about population but population densities. Isn't there a difference between 2 crore people packed in a smaller area vs spread out? Yet somehow they managed to have transmission rates

If you are comparing population densities Miami is densely populated enough in Florida. New York city is the only large city that's further densely populated (2x that of Miami). Still, Miami constantly has large public gatherings as it's a party city which are even more densely packed (that should offset it). There isn't much of difference in the total numbers clocked.

Offset what? Miami's population is 4.5 lakh compared to Florida's population of 226 lakh. That's like 2%.

>So, if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective," he said. "That's the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95 [respirator]."

Metro population is over 6 million. If you're comparing to NYC which has higher population density like 2-2.5 times that of Miami, then that could be offset by large frequent  crowd gatherings in Miami. By and large both states have same population.

Adhe kadha cheppindhi. Fauci 2020 ki 2021 Jan ki position flip chesadu. He didn't have consistency, ani. I told you very simple reasoning why masks don't work. N95 mask pore size kante virus particle size 60x kante thakkuva. Doesn't matter how many masks you put. Tell me your reasoning what makes you think otherwise.
