Elon Musk and MAGA are striking a compromise on H1B. The current scenario looks this way.

Potential problems:

  • 20k per year to maintain the H1B status
  • Only level 3 or 4 wages will be acceptable
  • Speciality occupation letter from end clients rather than employers
  • Previous approval is not a guarantee for an extension.
  • visa validity as per contract timelines
  • Forget about removal of country cap for GC
  • Visa lottery process might change
  • Frequent onsite visits by uscis
  • Undercurrent discrimination from officers at consulate and at POE
  • Lastly, companies will hesitate a lot to hire a h1b over an American. All it needs is a tweet from whistle blower to blow up company reputation on Twitter.

There is a lot of hatred towards Indians residing in Texas. Especially in Dallas area. Your chances of getting hired by a tech company in Dallas is going to be slim. Indians in Dallas area is a hot topic on X now. Please be careful.

Thank you @sriram. Your intentions were probably good. But it backfired big time.

This is not compromise, this is almost genocide for H1 families

If the applicants are a senior FTE  employee of any major company, they will be fine. Otherwise, it’s a tough time ahead of us

"Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically. "

ante 5%, 10% or 50% more visa fee cheppada, ledu, saati desi fellow kojja gallu ready ayyaru, 20k fee cheyandi, contract 3 months ayithe every 3 months 20k fee collect cheyandi amendment ki ani salahalu

The price hike was already there..ippudu 10k+ undi

FTs are not even hiring H1Bs that much. Whatever that was done it was done in last 5 yrs.

I think lot of Paki accounts are working under the hood

Unfortunately, recent H1B modernizing rule from USCIS was not very good either. It is proposed by Biden administration.

Now the MAGA batch is  demonizing this to a different level. On a grand scale, the H1 visa is attracting bad reputation over all.

It’s not paki. It’s Iran and Bangladesh people. They don’t like our consultancy model for H1 process.

It’s not that easy anymore to hire from offshore. Dump will come up with new rules like have to hire 70-80% force from here

You cannot force such on companies… he can say whatever he wants but the companies are not going to listen to him
