Yes. I did it multiple times, last month in Austin. They will take your picture and you just walk in. They don't check your passport or green card or visa documents.

Immigration daggara you don't need to enter in Citizen/GC line or Visa line. You have a separate line and come through diplomats line.

Even without TSA pre or global entry they did not check passport or greencard. Just face scan and let go.

May be you are thinking a routine thing for GC/Citizen is because of global entry. All airports are updating to facial scans for GC and Citizens.

I haven't traveled through GC/Citizen line in a long time. But when I did, I had to show my green card and passport. In global entry line, you don't need to show or scan any document.
