from SEC.gov you will get all companies quarterly statements as csv files such as balance sheets and income statements, cash flow statements..etc, that is public data 

by training with that data you can try a financial model, with that huge data you can do some analysis like

- what sector is gaining or loosing , what was the pattern it is leading to  bankruptcy or profit..etc

- pattern detection in assest raising or debt raising or volume movements

- some prediction analysis like elliot wave analysis or cycle analysis or something similar
