If Tesla, being a publicly listed company,  is doing it based on some inflated and hyped stock price, I agree… stockholders will raise a concern and can sue the company.. 

But spacex is a private company and public has no stake in it.. the investors can burn the money anyway they want… from NASA perspective, they are getting the cheapest possible cost for their satellite launches, ISS crew and cargo missions and also for moon landing project..

ISS..is multi year project...it just cost around 155B...

ISS is earth orbit station...you are comparing ISS with putting 1 Million habitants on Mars by 2045..(it includes their survival like food and oxygen..)

please be realistic...

1 million habitants on Mars by 2045 is theoretical.. not at all realistic, for now.. who knows what will happen in the future!!

The way I look at it is that, Musk never meets the timelines that he sets.. but he still tries to deliver it even at a later point of time.. this is like having a roadmap of deliverables with moving target dates.. 

I think he and even we won’t even be alive to see if this really happens or not..

You are missing the point here.. SpaceX has a long term vision and a short term vision.. they are trying to solve the technical and scientific challenges one after the other… look at their remarkable growth and achievements.. we don’t know what will happen in the future.. they may or may not become successful but someone has to try.. 

in 2015, if someone would say that Nvidia is going to be a $3T company, people would have laughed and rolled on the floor.. my friend who works at Nvidia sold his stock for $24 a share around that time bcoz even he didn’t believe that his company will grow a lot..

Ignore Elon Musk and see what SpaceX is achieving as a rocket technology company.. 

 I think your hate towards musk is blinding you from seeing what SpaceX is really doing.. 

they have lot of things to improve as well.. like Soyuz takes less than 4 hours to deorbit and land whereas SpaceX Crew dragon takes like 16-20 hours to land..

this is limited to what he can do on earth. There is not even a rudimentary plan on how to get magnetic field and how to build pressurized places enmasse on Mars. These are essential for human survival on mars. There can be a base on mars but not a civilization in 30 years.
