same boat man. Usually do we start the process few months before reaching 5 yrs of GC?  If we stay more than 6 months continuously in US i think it should satisfy the requirements right?

Basically any NRI is not supposed to buy agri lands. 

NRI ante anyone who is continuously out of India for 181 days or more. 

Kani ikade konni loop holes vunnayi, who is going to determine the NRI status ? Its Ministry of external affairs…So when you go in person/GPA to registration office, akada niku self declare or background check ki option vundadu…its complicated. Only proof is passport arrival/departure stamps and passport la ie page chimpi padesthe evadu emi peekaleru…

And oka 10 years NRI status maintain chesi, last 7 months India la vundi you can claim you are not an NRI anymore and you bought land for agriculture. That’s it all issues will be closed..

This law is very complicated if implemented and at the same time it can be ignored for now as supportive data by govt agencies ledu.

banks already are closing out the genral bank accounts if they find that u are NRI..

a records anni attach aipotunnai....trace cheyalante easy ga padtaru...

and govt offices lo a kodukulu cchese panulu ive....evadu bakra gadu dorkutada ani...

there will be seperate group who will be scouting for these kind of things... Collection Team they call it...

Commercial and residential properties mida emi limit ledu so akada no problem..

Agri lands already holding aithe no problem, you can inherit via ancestral route…gift deed kodithe ayipotadi. Evo rules slight ga marinattu vundi gift deed implementation ki recently but iversall law la emi change ledu….

Bank accounts and all its a routine thing and avi avutune vunnayi…

But when it comes to Agri Properties, NRI ga land konadam, and someone challenging it in court la nilabadutalevu…

oka 10 years NRI ga vundi land koni, last 7 months India la vundi claim back chestunaru…agri income in my livelihood ani….Basically ie cases la problem emaitundi ante MEA. They are not releasing the information..and states have no authority on this part..ie gap valla ie law implementation kastam aitundi..case pending la vuntadi for ever..revenue court nundi district to high court ki velladaniki oka 20 years..

Law vundi kani implementation kastam…Was personally involved in such a case, oka 10 years nadichindi, tarvata plaintiff peekindu and has survivors who are non indian citizens..akaditho case end.

But new trend these days, An intent to acquire agricultural land with the sole purpose to gift to NRI/Non Indian citizen is also controversial….iyalarepu NRI’s should be aware of this new trend…villages la evado okadu chusi case estunaru..

you can't have properties in india with US citizenship.  don't add your wife to the properties.

mee parents mida registration chepinchukkoo. don't believe wife

You can continue to own and also inherit. Just can’t buy new
