You never know. World history is all about conquest. Either Military, Political or Cultural, with the third one being most powerful. There are no in betweens. All it takes is culmination of Physical, financial strength and an opportunity.

Pakistan and Bangladesh were not separate countries 80 years back. Besides  we have seen the longest time of peace without outright military wars globally speaking. But when you're financially and militarily mightier, you spread wings. US and Anglo Zionists in the West  have been doing exactly this against smaller nations and are largely successful in maintaining "neo" colonies in the Middle East, parts of Asia and Africa.  Russia flexed its muscles too, and is rewarded with Territory too. 

May be India's and China's turn is around the corner. Who knows.
