US Border Crossing

Just entered US(NY) from Cornwall, eastern Ontario. Took a pic to show you how almost empty it is. Went in the morning (wfh) to meet my woman.  Funny thing happened with CBP Officer:

CBP officer: where do you live?

Me: xxx, NY

CBP: What's your status

Me: TN

CBP: what do you do?

Me: Title + employer

CBP: How long were you in Canada

Me : 4 hours

CBP: What were you up to

Me: Met a friend and had lunch.

CBP: You took a day off

Me: I said yes (even though wfh)

CBP: You travelled 4 hours to have lunch ? 

Me : Yes

CBP: What's your friend's name

Me: xxx

CBP: Are you bringing something into the US?

Me: No

CBP: roll down your truck windows and open your tail gate

Me: I did as instructed 

CBP Officer checked all. Thought I was smuggling something (lol) . Found nothing.

CBP: Just lunch ?

Me: Really long one . (We both were laughing).

CBP: Have a good day Sir.

Me: You too Officer. 

CBP is a white guy aged 40 something. 

It's less than 5 min. Nothing much to fear at all.  Just saying.
