Very frustrated 24F here

Very frustrated 24F here. Me and my friend both came from India to study our master's at UNT. Everything was fine at first, but like every international student, we started looking for a part-time job. We contacted many Desi restaurants, and somehow always ended up talking to the manager or owner on WhatsApp. At first, they talked nicely and asked about the job. But then they would ask for a photo. That's how they decide who to hire. If you are fair or look attractive, they'll say yes. If you look average, they'll just say, "Sorry, we're not hiring." Both of us applied at the same restaurants, and every time they hired my friend but not me. This happened 4-5 times. It felt so unfair

Finally, through one referral, I got a part-time job. But then the real problems started. Most Desi restaurants don't give tips, so we only get the base pay, like $8 or $9 per hour. On top of that, Desi uncles come to the restaurant with their wife and kids, act normal while eating, but at the billing counter say things like "You're very pretty," or "I can help you, I have a consultancy," and send $30 through Zelle, asking for your number. At first, it feels nice, but when we go home, we see DMs like "Hey cutie, wanna go for dinner?" These are married men acting like teenagers. It's creepy and disgusting.

And let's not forget the H4 aunties. They walk into restaurants like they own the whole city. They come in groups probably they all from some community like who bought houses next to each other, act bossy, and flirt with young male servers. One of our guy friends faced this these aunties gave him a big tip and later messaged him saying, "You are very handsome, we have an extra room, you can stay with us, and we can have a secret relationship." Like, what is this nonsense? If your marriage is not working, fix it at home. Don't drag us into your dirty drama. We're just trying to survive here with our studies and part-time jobs. Stop making our life harder with your cheap behavior.
