Not a work that you can diy unless you are an hardcore diy person. Your back will thank you. Not easy to dig, and the pavers are very heavy to carry. Just save up and hire a person. Look for fb marketplace posters to get better prices but you might risk finding someone without insurance etc. scammers will be there too so don’t pay anything until work done unless it’s a reputable company you know of or got references. Learning and doing is not wrong. You might not be expert on your first task but you get better. But doing this as first task is not good. If he really wants to spend physical effort he can try as patio is low safety risk. But deck aithe no way to attempt as first job. Quote

yogdenon Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 I had a similar plan last year and ended up going with https://emersonproservices.com/masonry-pavers/ for their paver work. Their team helped me with good design ideas too, especially with drainage and leveling since I had a slight slope in my yard. Saved me a lot of guesswork and trips. Quote
FilmAdmirer Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 If possible try to hire contractor. It's very laborious and DIY outcome might be bad. Some contractors charge 600 per pallet. I tried installing one pallet myself but it wasn't level and water during rain wasn't properly flowing which made puddles. So I hired contractor and paid 3k for adding sod around 11 pallets. Quote
