The Systems Programmer (Windows Server Administrator) will diagnose and analyze system related issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on knowledge of the appropriate systems and system software. This role also provides application support and communicates periodically with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements and potential impacts. Candidates must work one of three 24/7 shifts. Shifts may be Thursday through Sunday from 4-12.
Required Skills


Requirements include: * 5+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator in an enterprise environment (500+ servers) is required * In depth experience with Windows 2003 and 2008 servers (60%), Netbackup (15%), VMWare (10%), HP DL Server Hardware (10%), SMB and CIFs troubleshooting (5%) * Knowledge of HP hardware is required * Server administration experience in a Data Center is required * Strong problem determination and resolution skills * Knowledge of tape back-ups and restores is required * Knowledge of VMWare ESX is a plus * Knowledge of scripting languages such as vbscript and pearl is a plus * Strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization - end users, peers, and management * Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers * Must work effectively in a team environment, multi-team setting, as well as independently * Must know how to provide a status on assigned deliverables (i.e., estimate their work) * Knowledge of the financial industry preferred * Some college highly preferred * Experience performing 24x7 production support is required Must have: * Windows Server Administration- Non- Help Desk * Utilization of EMC SAN * Utilization of NetApp NAS * Solid understanding of Windows file systems and user rights * Windows XP, 2000 Server, Exchange, or Desktop * Worked in an environment supporting over 500 Windows Servers Preferred: * Novell Netware * VMWare ESX 4.0 * Avocent * Active Directory Administration * Experience in the following tools: * Lotus Notes Email * MS Visio * Knowledge of Remedy Incident Manager (Request tool) * Experience with the following applications: * Lotus Domino * Citrix * Netbackup * SAMBA * Opsware

This position's general responsibilities / duties include: * System Administration background in UNIX * In-depth experience with Solaris 10 / SPARC (50%), HP-UX (30%), Linux Redhat (5%), and NFS and LVM troubleshooting (15%) * Diagnose and analyze system related issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on knowledge of the appropriate systems and system software * Provide support to application teams / business units and communicate periodically with users on systems status including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts

UNIX Systems Programmer Qualifications: * Recent experience (last 3 years) * Solaris 10 Systems Administration- (Non-Help Desk) * Symantec VCS and GCO * EMC SAN * NetApp NAS * In-depth experience * Solaris Zones * HPUX 11i * Solid understanding of the UNIX File systems and user rights * Solaris 8 and 9 Redhat Linux and IBM AIX (cannot substitute for Solaris 10 experience) * Worked in an environment supporting over 500 Windows Servers * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationship with internal associates and external customers * Strong organizational and time management skills necessary as well as ability to multi-task to meet deadlines * Must know how to provide a status on assigned deliverables (estimate their work) * Work effectively in a team environment and multi-team setting as well as independently * Demonstrate experience researching new tools and technologies to implement into the technology environment * Familiarity with scripting languages is desired * Some college is highly preferred * Knowledge of the financial industry is preferred * Experience performing 24x7 production support Prefer: * Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 and 5 Experience in the following tools: * Lotus Notes Email * MS Visio * Knowledge of Remedy Incident Manager (Request tool) Experience with the following applications: * Connect Direct * Autosys * Netbackup
